Intermediate Band Members have studied their instrument for two to three years or are proficient on a primary instrument and wish to pursue a secondary instrument. Most students in this band are able to play several scales one to two octaves up and down, have knowledge of compound time signatures and key signatures with at least two flats or sharps. They are familiar with repeat signs, and dynamic and tempo markings. Most members of this group are in grade seven or higher although some younger students who made exceptional progress have been promoted to this level.
