Members are capable of playing challenging music and are able to play major, minor, and chromatic scales from two to three octaves up and down and can execute different styles of phrasing and articulation. They are familiar with complex time and key signatures and are able to play syncopation.

Most participants in this band are in high school or beyond, or have played at least four to five years.

The band plays traditional band music as well as popular favourites and participates in parades and concerts.
